History of Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a healing medical system that involves diluted substances to stimulate the body’s healing system.

Homeopathy is based on the Law of Similars, “similia similibus curentur “ which translates to “like cures like”. This simply states that substances which cause disease may be used to treat the same disease, when prepared according to homeopathic principles.

“similia similibus curentur”

Homeopathy was founded in the 18th century by the German physician, Samuel Hahneman. By a process called ‘proving’, Hahneman took regular doses of cinchona bark, due to its astringent properties, and soon produced symptoms similar that of malaria. This led to the creation of the founding principle of homeopathy “similia similibus curentur “ or like cures like.
